After Advanced Dermaplaning

What to Expect After Dermaplaning

After your treatment, it’s normal to experience the following:

  • A smooth, glowing complexion!

  • Slight redness or sensitivity (should subside within a few hours).

  • Increased product absorption—your skincare will penetrate deeper!

  • Temporary dryness or tightness.

  • The skin may feel slightly sensitive to the sun.

These effects are completely normal and should resolve within 24–48 hours.

Immediate Post-Treatment Care (First 24–48 Hours)

Avoid Touching Your Face

Your skin is more vulnerable to bacteria, so keep your hands off to prevent breakouts and irritation.

Use a Gentle Cleanser

Harsh scrubs can cause irritation, so stick to a mild, hydrating cleanser.
Recommended: Biophora Gentle Cleanser – Cleanses while maintaining skin moisture.

Hydrate Your Skin

Your skin may feel dry or tight post-treatment, so hydration is key.
Recommended: Biophora DermaRich Moisturizer – Provides deep moisture and soothes sensitivity.

Apply Sunscreen Daily (SPF 30+)

Your skin is more prone to sun damage after exfoliation, increasing the risk of hyperpigmentation.
Recommended: Biophora Daily Protection SPF 30 – Lightweight and non-greasy.

Avoid Makeup

Let your skin breathe for at least 24 hours to prevent clogged pores.

Avoid Excessive Heat, Sweating, & Chlorine

Hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, and pools can cause redness and irritation.

No Waxing, Threading, or Shaving for 2 Weeks

Your skin needs time to heal. If necessary, tweeze carefully.

Avoid Harsh Skincare Products

Hold off on retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, and exfoliants for at least 5–7 days.

Use a Clean Pillowcase

Bacteria buildup on pillowcases can cause breakouts. Change them frequently.

Be Gentle with Your Skin

Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or picking at your skin—let it heal naturally.
