After Microdermabrasion

What to Expect After Microdermabrasion

After your treatment, it’s normal to experience the following:

  • A fresh, radiant glow!

  • Slight redness or sensitivity (similar to a mild sunburn).

  • A tight or dry sensation.

  • Mild flaking or peeling (especially in drier skin types).

  • Increased absorption of skincare products.

These effects are completely normal and should subside within 24–48 hours.

Immediate Post-Treatment Care (First 24–48 Hours)

Avoid Touching Your Face

Your skin is more vulnerable to bacteria, so keep your hands off to prevent breakouts and irritation.

Use a Gentle Cleanser

Your skin has already been deeply exfoliated, so opt for a mild, non-stripping cleanser to maintain balance.
Recommended: Biophora Gentle Cleanser – Cleanses while maintaining skin moisture.

Hydrate Your Skin

Moisturizing is key to locking in hydration and calming any post-facial sensitivity.
Recommended: Biophora DermaRich Moisturizer – Provides deep moisture and soothes sensitivity.

Apply Sunscreen Daily (SPF 30+)

Your skin is extra sensitive to UV rays, making sunscreen essential to prevent damage and pigmentation.
Recommended: Biophora Daily Protection SPF 30 – Lightweight and non-greasy.

Skip Makeup

Let your skin breathe for at least 24-48 hours.

Avoid Excessive Heat, Sweating, & Chlorine

Hot showers, saunas, intense workouts, and pools can cause redness and irritation.

No Waxing, Threading, or Tweezing

Electrolysis works by permanently destroying the follicle, so avoid any hair removal methods in the treated area

Keep Your Skincare Routine Simple

Stick to a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum, and moisturizer—skip any harsh actives for a few days.

Skip Exfoliation

Your skin has already been exfoliated, so avoid scrubs or peeling treatments for one week.

Sanitize Cell Phones & Use a Clean Pillowcase

Bacteria buildup can cause breakouts.

Be Gentle with Your Skin

Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or picking at your skin—let it heal naturally.
